Windows 10 is a good operating system. However, when it has a problem, it may cause difficulties or even frustration. Occasionally, one of its problems is when the start menu, taskbar, or file explorer show no response or freezing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this case, the following solutions may be able to help you to fix the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Method 1: using task manager<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Start Menu, Taskbar, and File Explorer are controlled by a program called explorer.exe<\/code>. Therefore, if something goes wrong, we could try to restart the explorer.exe<\/code> by using task manager. The steps are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. press CTRL<\/code>+ALT<\/code>+DEL<\/code> on your keyboard, to show the Windows Security screen as in Fig. 1,<\/li>
  2. then, select task manager<\/code>,<\/li>
  3. in the Processes<\/code> tab, find and right-click the Windows Explorer<\/code> program, as in Fig. 2,<\/li>
  4. then click restart<\/code>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Note: in step 3, if you couldn’t found the Processes<\/code> tab in the task manager, click More details<\/code> button in the bottom right of the task manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Method 2: using CMD <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Other than using Task Manager, we could also restart explorer.exe<\/code> by using command prompt (CMD). The steps are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. press Windows key<\/code> + R<\/code> on your keyboard, to show the “Run” dialog box as in Fig. 3,<\/li>
    2. then, type “cmd” in the text box, and click OK<\/code> button,<\/li>
    3. in the command prompt, type taskkill \/F \/IM explorer.exe & start explorer<\/code>, as in Fig. 4,<\/li>
    4. then press enter.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Method 3: restart the computer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
